Occupy Heaven

In 2011, our EAT THIS BOOK! program was a tremendous success. While we are continuing that program, we also want to do for prayer what EAT THIS BOOK! did for Bible reading. That is why we are very excited to announce our 2012 emphasis on prayer: “Occupy Heaven: Prayer for Change.” Each week in 2012, the Church of Christ in Jersey Village will be praying for something specific. This will be a corporate prayer that we engage in privately and publicly, both in our assembles, and through the week in our homes. In addition to a weekly prayer focus, our elders and ministers have committed to praying for each family by name throughout the year.

We invite you to join us in 2012 as we “occupy heaven” with our prayers and pray for change. Change in the world. Change in our hearts.

In January, we are praying for:

• Week of Jan. 1 – God to be gloried and his will to be done in 2012. Also for all those committing to read their Bible daily in 2012.
• Week of Jan. 8 – Our 2012 Theme: Grow ⬆ in Evangelism, Service, Love, and Maturity.
• Week of Jan. 15 – Our elders and their wives
• Week of Jan. 22 – Our deacons, ministry leaders, and their wives
• Week of Jan. 23 – Our ministers and their wives
