From John’s Desk

In Genesis 1:26, 27 we read, Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness… 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” (NKJV). God creates us, forms us in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5), and He creates us MALE and FEMALE. There is no ambiguity whatsoever. In the delivery room, it only takes a doctor a half of a second to announce, “It’s a boy!” or “It’s a girl!”  Your gender isn’t determined years after you’re birth. God created you male or female!

In Romans 1:20 the apostle Paul writes, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.”  Writing by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Paul is essentially saying that man is without excuse when he refuses to accept the natural and observable order and ways of creation. Christians should understand this and must accept it unconditionally.  God said it, so it is.  End of discussion.

Except, of course, that it isn’t the end of the discussion, is it?  A tiny minority of people, with the aid of powerful politicians, Hollywood and a progressive news media, have succeeded in advancing the homosexuality agenda. Not satisfied with their Supreme Court victory on marriage, these very same people are pushing a new agenda called ‘transgenderism.’ As a result, so called “bathroom” laws have been passed in several states that seek to enforce what nature and creation already show us:  men belong in men’s bathrooms and women belong in women’s bathrooms. How much more natural and logical could this be?

Yet, logic is nowhere to be seen in this argument because unless you kowtow to the twisted agenda of the secular progressives, you are branded a ‘bigot’ or worse. But why is it bigoted to say what is absolutely and unarguably obvious by observing nature? Well, because those who promote evil say that it is and we’re told to accept the unacceptable because logic, reason and common sense have no place in this discussion. Just put your brain on hold and follow the sheep right off the cliff.

Nowhere is the lack of logic in the transgender movement more apparent than Target’s decision to allow men who “feel” like women to use the women’s bathroom. Target is a corporation that, like all other corporations, is in business to make money for its shareholders. Corporations make decisions based on increasing profits. Yet Target is taking a stand for a group of people that according to statistics represents less on 0.3% of the population – that’s 3 out of every 1000 customers.  Yet as of this writing, nearly 500,000 customers are signing a petition to boycott Target over their decision.  That is not a smart, profitable business decision.  In fact, it is totally illogical. If you’re a Target shareholder, consider that this company you own is going to lose your money to be politically correct!  Still, despite public demand and basic business sense, Target is forging ahead. The Bible, nature, the will of the vast majority of its customers and logic are being cast aside. Target’s stance is absolutely and totally illogical from a business standpoint. So why are they really doing it?  That’s the, literally, million dollar question!

Of course, when it comes to the homosexual and transgender agendas, God will sort out all of this at judgment. He said, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil” (Isaiah 5:20) and those who participate, promote and accept evil and immorality will answer for their decisions on the Great Day of the Lord.  Until that day, the church that Jesus built has been called to stand firmly on the Word, to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11) and to keep ourselves from being polluted by the world (James 1:27).   Such commands, combined with Target’s position to defiantly stand opposed to logic, reason and Scripture, should cause Christians to seriously consider where we spend our money.
